Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Weekend Morning Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our caregiving team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care, excellent communication skills, and experience working with diverse populations, including seniors and individuals with developmental disabilities. As a Weekend AM CNA, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality support and ensuring the comfort and safety of our residents during morning shifts.
Duties
- Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, accurately documenting all patient information in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Provide compassionate care for residents with memory impairments such as Alzheimer's disease or dementia, ensuring their safety and emotional well-being.
- Support medication administration under supervision, following strict aseptic techniques and HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to identify resident needs and report any changes in condition promptly.
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols and sanitation standards.
- Engage residents in meaningful activities that promote mental stimulation and social interaction aligned with their care plans.
Experience
- Prior experience as a CNA or in a similar caregiving role within long-term care facilities such as assisted living or nursing homes.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks for documentation purposes.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, catheter care, and basic life support (BLS).
- Exposure to various healthcare settings including hospitals—particularly ICU or trauma centers—and outpatient clinics is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to provide person-centered care in fast-paced environments such as emergency medicine or urgent care settings.
