ROLE OVERVIEW
The Regional Manager plays a critical leadership role at our Ugly Dumpling locations, overseeing the success of front-of-house operations. This position requires an individual who is highly organized, adept at multitasking, and capable of coaching team members effectively in real-time. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of fostering a culture of exceptional hospitality and is ultimately responsible for ensuring a positive experience for all restaurant guests and staff. They will be working side by side with the Head of Operations and franchisees to drive business results in support of operational goals, in addition to ensuring budgetary goals, initiating and leading operational changes, and assisting General Managers in implementing changes that bring positive results. Availability to work evenings and weekends is essential.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure restaurant teams hit their allotted budgets for P&L accountability (eg. sales, comps/discounts, food, liquor, labor, and controllable profit).
- Ensure assigned locations are adherent to brand standards, via regular visits and reporting, following up on corrective action on the restaurant level.
- Ensure all assigned locations are adherent to federal, state, and local guidelines, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Confirm all company initiatives are integrated and emphasized to all applicable staff, on the restaurant level.
- Perform onboarding guidance and new manager training.
- Support assigned locations with Human Resources Functions including terminations that are approved.
- Establish each location’s staffing pars, after consulting with the Franchise Partners and/or Operations Managers, and follow up for adherence, where necessary.
- Follow up on Social Media Marketing and Promotional requirements with the location, communication of corrective action to direct report.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours per shift).
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25–50 pounds.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive movements in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work in varying conditions, including heat, cold, and noise.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Essential Functions
- 5+ years leading full-service restaurant operations and bartending, with a hands-on approach to service and team supervision.
- 3+ years of multi-unit full-service restaurant management experience.
- Hold a valid State-Mandated Food Handlers Certification, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
- Hold a valid State-Mandated Alcohol Handlers Certification, ensuring compliance with local regulatory authority health and safety standards (where applicable).
- Proficient in POS systems, scheduling software, purchasing platforms, streamlining daily operations.
- Demonstrate clear, high-level communication skills to effectively lead teams and enhance guest satisfaction.
- Solid experience with P&L management, understanding the relationship between sales, labor, and operational costs.
- Strong communication and a passion for delivering world-class service at every touchpoint.
- Comfortable working around hot cooking surfaces.
- Can travel 60%-80% of the time in the New York-New Jersey Area.
