Duties
- Verify dental insurance coverage and benefits for patients prior to treatment appointments
- Accurately apply insurance payments to patient accounts
- Submit and follow up on insurance claims using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding systems to ensure accurate billing
- Communicate effectively with insurance providers to resolve claim issues, denials, or discrepancies
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of managed care policies, dental insurance plans, and industry standards
- Ensure all documentation complies with medical office procedures and maintains confidentiality of medical records
Qualifications
- Familiarity with dental office operations and experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient information
- Office experience that demonstrates organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to adapt quickly to new policies or procedures related to insurance processes
