American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a hospital-based Operating Room position requiring Epic proficiency, COVID vaccination, and a minimum of 2 years of OR experience.

Operating Room (OR) setting in a hospital environment
-
Day shift, 4x10-hour scheduled shifts (7:00–19:30)

Call shift schedule includes weekday nights (2300–0700, 8 hours) and weekend scheduled/call shifts (10–12 hours)

Up to 6 call and/or weekend scheduled shifts per 6-week schedule

Broad surgical case mix including general surgery, orthopedics, spine, neurology, gynecology, urology, vascular, thoracic, plastics, ENT, bariatrics, robotics, trauma, and more

Da Vinci Xi and Mako robotic surgical systems used

Epic EMR — experience is required with no exceptions
-
Floating required — travelers are first to float to a nearby affiliate hospital approximately 15 minutes away; refusal to float may result in contract cancellation

1:1 patient ratio

Active RN license with an active OR (CNA) license in hand — no pending licensure accepted

Oregon RN license pending at time of consideration is acceptable; Oregon CNA license must be active and in hand

Current BLS certification required; ACLS and CNOR preferred

Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience required

Epic EMR experience required — no exceptions

COVID vaccination required — no exemptions

Trauma Level I or II hospital experience preferred

Charge nurse experience preferred

Proficiency in a wide range of surgical specialties preferred, including robotic surgery (Da Vinci Xi, Mako), vascular, neuro/spine, orthopedic, gynecologic, urologic, and bariatric procedures

At least one supervisor reference required for consideration

First-time travelers are welcome to apply, provided they have robust OR RN experience at a Level I or II hospital

Local candidates are accepted at the same rates — no radius restriction applies

Former permanent employees of Salem Health must have been separated for at least 6 months before being eligible to travel with this health system

All RTO must be finalized prior to consideration and cannot be modified after submission; additional RTO requests may result in removal from consideration or contract cancellation

Facility does not accommodate block scheduling

Pre-start and annual online modules are required; these are non-billable and separate from facility orientation

COVID vaccination is mandatory with no exemptions accepted
