Overview
The Sr. Project Engineer plans and directs aspects of engineering activities within the Company and ensures engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with the Company's established policies and objectives. The Sr. Project Engineer will also administer the approved capital budget, provide engineering support to the operating maintenance and production departments and assist plant management with planning, scheduling, and execution of the major outage repairs for plant processing systems at facilities.
- Be able to ascend and descend stairs, ladders, embankments and stockpiles. Cannot have a fear of heights or confined spaces
- This is a safety sensitive position to be performed with a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
- Have use of both hands, and ability to perform frequent, repetitious motions with arms and hands
- Be able to do bending, kneeling, twisting, aften in confined spaces and awkward positions
- Be able to lift 50 lbs of weight properly
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or Chemical Engineering or equivalent technical experience in a related field
- Minimum 5 years experience in cement manufacturing (or a similar heavy industrial process) in roles pertaining to project engineering and management
- Have a valid driver license and acceptable driving record and be able to travel in state and out of state, possible in inclement weather
- Demonstrate flexible and efficient time management and the ability to prioritize workload
- Be able to work long hours and weekends when necessary and be on a call out basis
- Oversee and prioritize engineering support to the operating, maintenance, production and quarry departments as needed for equipment and process improvements or equipment failures or repairs
- Oversee and prioritize engineering assistance to plant management staff regarding reliability, data collection, and evaluation; provides recommendations to improve operating efficiency, product quality control and reduce product variation
- Oversee and review incoming equipment specifications, process, mechanical, electrical and electronic drawings and automation programming for technical acceptance
- Oversee engineering design and specifications for electrical and mechanical components as needed to assist field installations and implement any necessary design modifications
- Oversee and assist in the maintenance and development of equipment and drawing files for equipment and plant
- Manage and coordinate activities of outside vendors, including engineers, consultants, equipment suppliers and contractors as necessary to ensure proper completion of engineering projects
- Administer the approved capital budget to ensure that the work is performed as detailed in the budget, including; assigning managing projects and assigned project managers for each project and coordinating support staff to properly complete the project
Pay: $123,864.00 - $190,008.00 per year
