Joyland Childcare is a warm, high-quality childcare program located in Sunnyvale, California. We are currently looking for a full-time Daycare Teacher/Teacher Assistant who genuinely enjoys working with infants and toddlers.
Previous childcare experience is not required. We value responsibility, patience, safety awareness, reliability, and a willingness to learn. We are looking for someone who wants a stable, long-term position and can provide young children with consistent, attentive, and loving care.
This is a long-term role with opportunities for professional growth. A team member who is willing to learn, consistently performs well, and develops strong childcare and leadership skills may grow from an entry-level teacher or teacher assistant into a Lead Teacher and eventually a Site Supervisor position.
Responsibilities
- Provide a safe, nurturing, and loving environment for infants and toddlers
- Supervise children closely and remain attentive to their safety at all times
- Support children’s daily routines, including meals, diaper changes, naps, indoor play, and outdoor play
- Feed infants and toddlers according to their individual schedules and needs
- Change diapers and assist with toileting and handwashing
- Comfort children patiently when they are upset
- Read books, sing songs, and participate in age-appropriate learning activities
- Support teachers with classroom activities and transitions
- Help children develop positive routines and social-emotional skills
- Maintain clean and organized play, eating, sleeping, and diaper-changing areas
- Follow Joyland’s safety procedures, classroom routines, and childcare standards
- Communicate respectfully and cooperate with other teachers and families
- Complete other childcare-related duties as needed
Qualifications
- Responsible, dependable, and punctual
- Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
- Patient, gentle, and caring with young children
- Emotionally stable and able to remain calm when children cry or become upset
- Willing to learn and follow Joyland’s routines and standards
- Motivated to develop professionally and take on greater responsibilities over time
- Able to work cooperatively as part of a team
- Able to communicate in English
- Able to make a stable, long-term commitment
- Able to pass the background check and fingerprint clearance required by California Community Care Licensing
- Able to lift up to 30 pounds and sit, stand, bend, and play on the floor for extended periods
- Reliable transportation to the workplace
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred or must be obtained after hiring

- Full-time
- Monday through Friday
- Day shift
- In-person position in Sunnyvale, California
Experience
- Previous childcare experience is welcome but not required
- Training will be provided to the right candidate
