JOB SUMMARY:
The Plumbing Service Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing commercial plumbing systems. This position delivers high-quality workmanship while providing exceptional customer service and maintaining a strong commitment to safety, productivity, and teamwork. The Plumbing Service Technician reports directly to the Plumbing Service Superintendent.
REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of three (3) years of commercial plumbing service experience.

High School Diploma or equivalent (experience may be substituted for education).

Journeyman Plumber license preferred.

Valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.

Able to work Monday through Friday with occasional evenings, weekends, and emergency on-call assignments as needed. Must be flexible with work schedule.

Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, fixtures, piping, valves, pumps, water heaters, backflow devices, and drainage systems.

Ability to diagnose and repair plumbing system issues efficiently and accurately.

Ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.

Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with supervisors and dispatch.

Able to handle and prioritize multiple service assignments effectively.

Interface effectively, ethically, and professionally with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and S&D team members.

Communicate effectively in English (aural, verbal, and written).

Preferred: Active Medical Gas License.

Able to lift five to seventy pounds (5-70 lbs.), with or without assistance, frequently.

Able to sit, stand, bend, walk, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and remain in static positions for the duration of the shift.

Able to withstand exposure to heights, dust, temperature extremes, mechanical rooms, active construction sites, and outdoor weather conditions.

Possess a strong desire, willingness, and ability to learn new technologies, equipment, and procedures.
JOB DESCRIPTION

Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial plumbing systems and equipment.

Install, replace, and repair piping, valves, fixtures, water heaters, pumps, backflow preventers, drains, and related plumbing components.

Respond to scheduled service calls and emergency service requests in a timely and professional manner.

Perform preventative maintenance inspections and identify potential system issues before failures occur.

Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, equipment manuals, and work orders.

Accurately document service performed, materials used, labor hours, and recommendations for additional work.

Communicate repair options and recommendations professionally with customers.

Maintain company vehicle, tools, equipment, and inventory in a clean and organized manner.

Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and applicable plumbing codes.

Maintain a professional appearance and represent Shapiro & Duncan in a courteous and respectful manner.

Work collaboratively with dispatch, supervisors, and fellow technicians to ensure exceptional customer service.

Participate in after-hours emergency service rotation as assigned.

Maintain required licenses, certifications, and training.

Complete all assigned work accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner.
