Full Job Description

Johnson’s Nursery is seeking an Assistant Landscape Foreperson to assist with spring harvest and work on the landscape crew to install trees, shrubs, evergreens, and perennials for residential and commercial landscape projects.

Position Details

Full-time, year-round.
8-10 hours per day plus Saturdays in spring (March-June).

Job Description

Assist in spring harvest.
Install trees, shrubs, evergreens, and perennials for residential and commercial landscape clients.
Some landscape maintenance (spring and fall clean-up, small tree pruning and removals, etc.).
Coordinate with Landscape Foreperson to ensure quality results and efficient work on job sites.
Work in a variety of weather conditions.
Manage and oversee smaller landscape jobs.

Qualifications

Insurable driver’s license and a clean driving record.
At least 2 years of experience in the landscape construction business.
Good management skills to maintain a productive job site.
Basic knowledge of proper installment of trees, shrubs, mulch, soil, and other landscape materials.
Proper loading and unloading of all landscape materials.
Proper operational knowledge of landscaping equipment (bobcat, sod cutter, bed edger, chainsaw).
Possess or able to acquire a CDL driver’s license and pesticide applicator license.
Basic knowledge of all aspects of a landscape project, such as blueprint reading, plant knowledge, and material layout.
Attention to detail in completing paperwork.
A positive attitude is a must for the individual chosen for this position.
Self-starter.

Benefits & Compensation

$19.00-$22.00 per hour.
