EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
This role focuses on carrying out nursing care plans and supporting the medical needs of inmates at SCI Fayette. The position plays a key part in promoting safe, effective, and consistent health services by assisting practitioners and Registered Nurses. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will perform the following duties: Patient Care: Provide treatments, check vital signs, and assist inmates with daily living tasks to support their health needsMedication Support: Administer medications as directed and document all treatments in the health recordEmergency Response: Respond to urgent medical situations and deliver first aid or CPR when neededRecord Management: Maintain accurate medical reports, prepare records for transfers, and manage controlled substance documentationEquipment Oversight: Sterilize medical tools and maintain proper inventory levels in treatment areasTeam Communication: Share essential information with staff to ensure continuity of care across shiftsInterested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 40-hour work week.The Department of Corrections is staffed by three (3) work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.Work Hours: 2nd shift: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PMRotating days off, weekends, and holidays.Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. Please Note: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $67,558.00 (before taxes).
