Responsibilities:
- Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their hygiene treatment
- Sterilize and disinfect dental instruments and equipment properly. We are big on proper infection control
- Conduct Oral Cancer screenings and document oral and medical health histories for all patients
- Clean and help protect patients’ teeth (remove plaque and calculus or apply fluoride)
- Administer local anesthesia during scaling and root planing procedures
- Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques)
- Demonstrate and discuss after care instructions with patients
- Take diagnostic X-rays
- Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases (including oral cancer screenings)
- Maintain thorough documentation and perio chartings for each patient
- Monitor supplies
- Learn about 3D printing technology and intraoral scanning
Skills
- Be genuine in wanting to build trusting relationships with our dental patients
- Must have proven experience as Dental Hygienist
- Have in-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this hygiene profession (e.g. HIPAA)
- Proven experience in maintaining dental equipment
- Demonstrate good communication skills and have a friendly personality
- Attention to details and punctual
- Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job
- Diploma in Dental Hygiene and a valid license to practice in Hawaii, a current CPR certification
Schedule
- Mondays & Thursdays 8:30AM - 5:00PM
- Tuesdays 8:30AM - 5:30PM
- Alternating Wednesdays (twice a month) 7:30AM - 4:00PM
- Alternating Saturdays (twice a month) 7:30AM - 1:30PM
