Purpose Summary
The Director of Community Outreach leads SNSC’s community partnerships and inclusion initiatives to advance the mission of empowering our community to be a place where we all belong. This position builds and sustains relationships with local businesses, municipalities, and organizations to promote accessibility and inclusion. The Director of Community Outreach oversees the Disability-Friendly Certification programs, represents SNSC in the community, and evaluates outreach outcomes to measure progress toward inclusion goals.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesLeadership and Coordination
- DEVELOP and LEAD strategic community engagement initiatives that strengthen disability inclusion across the Upper Valley.
- REPRESENT SNSC at events, coalitions, and meetings to promote awareness and build partnerships.
- LEAD the Disability-Friendly Certification programs to recognize inclusive community partners through collaboration with the Marketing Manager
Cross-Functional Leadership and Collaboration
- LEAD twice monthly meetings with Volunteers and Advocacy Director to discuss outreach initiatives, training, and shared communication plans.
- PARTICIPATE in the Advocacy and Program Committees to contribute to outreach and inclusion.
- DEVELOP and DELIVER pilot outreach programs that TEST new community engagement strategies; Pitch pilot programs requiring extra funding to ED.
- PROVIDE success stories and data to support grants, donor updates, and marketing efforts.
- REPRESENT SNSC publicly as a Mission Ambassador in community partnership and inclusion settings.
- BUILD relationships with municipal, business, and community leaders to advance accessibility and inclusion across the Upper Valley.
Partnership Development
- BUILD and MAINTAIN relationships with local businesses, nonprofits, municipalities, and schools to advance disability awareness and accessibility.
- ENGAGE potential partners through presentations, trainings, and follow-up support.
- CULTIVATE long-term partnerships that result in measurable accessibility and inclusion improvements.
Training and Inclusion Leadership
- DESIGN and DELIVER trainings on disability awareness, ADA compliance, reasonable accommodations, and inclusive practices.
- COORDINATE public workshops and community dialogues that foster understanding and allyship.
- PARTICIPATE in SNSC camps and youth events to promote inclusion and community connection.
Program Management and Evaluation
- OVERSEE implementation of outreach programs and community events.
- EVALUATE outreach metrics and report inclusion outcomes to the staff and board through a monthly board report.
- TRACK data on business participation, certification progress, and event engagement.
- ANALYZE results and recommend strategies for continuous improvement.
Collaboration and Communication
- PARTNER with the Office Manager for planning and event logistics.
- WORK closely with the Marketing Manager to align outreach communications with accessibility standards and brand consistency.
- PROVIDE feedback and insights to the Enabled Committee to inform strategic decision-making.
Culture and Inclusion
- EMBODY SNSC’s values of belonging, inclusion, and collaboration in every interaction.
- PROMOTE accessibility and representation in all community activities.
- MAINTAIN professionalism, responsiveness, and respect in partnerships and public engagement.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience in community engagement, partnership development, or outreach coordination.
- Strong understanding of disability inclusion, accessibility, and ADA compliance.
- Proven ability to develop and sustain relationships with businesses, nonprofits, and municipalities.
- Skilled in public speaking, training, and facilitation with diverse audiences.
- Experience evaluating programs, tracking outcomes, and reporting results.
- Ability to plan and manage multiple events and community initiatives.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Collaborative approach to teamwork and partnership building.
- Commitment to cultural responsiveness, equity, and inclusive community practices.
- Enthusiasm for representing SNSC in public and fostering community belonging.
- Special Education degree and experience preferred.

Pay: $64,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
