About the Position:
Silveroak Home Health Care is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and experienced Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) to provide mental health nursing services in Assisted Living Facilities (ALFs). The ideal candidate will have experience administering long-acting psychiatric intramuscular (IM) injections, conducting mental health assessments, monitoring medication effectiveness and side effects, and collaborating with psychiatric providers to support optimal patient outcomes.
This position is offered on a PRN/contract basis with flexible scheduling.
Responsibilities:
- Administer scheduled psychiatric intramuscular (IM) injections, including long-acting injectable medications, in accordance with physician orders and agency policies
- Perform comprehensive mental health and behavioral assessments
- Monitor patients for medication effectiveness, adverse reactions, side effects, and changes in mental status
- Conduct follow-up nursing visits to evaluate treatment response and overall psychiatric stability
- Communicate significant findings and changes in condition to psychiatrists, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members
- Educate patients, caregivers, and ALF staff regarding psychiatric diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and symptom management
- Assess patient safety, including risk factors related to psychiatric conditions
- Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation in the agency's EMR system
- Collaborate with facility staff, physicians, case managers, and family members to ensure continuity of care
- Maintain compliance with all agency, state, federal, and home health regulations
Requirements:
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida
- Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience
- Experience administering psychiatric IM injections, including long-acting injectable medications preferred
- Knowledge of common psychiatric diagnoses, psychotropic medications, and behavioral health interventions
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible caseload
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
- Current CPR certification
- Must meet all credentialing requirements for home health employment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in psychiatric nursing, behavioral health, community mental health, or home health
- Experience working with Assisted Living Facility (ALF) residents
- Familiarity with Kinnser/WellSky or other home health EMR systems
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
