We are seeking a Heavy Mechanical Assembler to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for assembling, installing, and fitting together large-scale mechanical equipment, machinery, structural components, and subassemblies. The ideal candidate has hands-on mechanical experience and is comfortable working with large parts, power tools, hand tools, blueprints, and lifting equipment.
This is a hands-on position suited for someone who enjoys building large, complex equipment and working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble large and heavy mechanical equipment and machinery according to engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
- Install mechanical components including frames, shafts, bearings, gears, hydraulic components, motors, guards, brackets, and other assemblies.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, assembly diagrams, measurements, and specifications.
- Use hand tools, power tools, torque wrenches, impact tools, drills, grinders, and other mechanical equipment.
- Measure, align, level, and position components to ensure proper fit and function.
- Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, hoists, and other material-handling equipment to safely move large components.
- Perform drilling, grinding, fitting, cutting, and other basic fabrication or modification work as needed.
- Identify and correct mechanical fitment, alignment, or assembly issues.
- Install and route hydraulic lines, mechanical linkages, hoses, and other components when required.
- Torque bolts and fasteners to specified requirements.
- Work with a team to safely maneuver and assemble oversized or heavy components.
- Perform quality inspections throughout the assembly process.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues during assembly and testing.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures and proper equipment-handling practices.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in heavy equipment assembly, mechanical assembly, industrial maintenance, machinery installation, fabrication, or a related field preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to understand how mechanical components fit and operate together.
- Ability to read blueprints, mechanical drawings, and assembly instructions.
- Experience using hand and power tools.
- Ability to work comfortably with large, heavy, and oversized equipment and components.
- Basic measurement skills using tape measures, calipers, levels, and other precision tools.
- Ability to safely lift, position, and maneuver heavy components using cranes, hoists, forklifts, and other equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Experience
Candidates with experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Industrial Mechanic, Millwright, Machinery Assembler, Mechanical Technician, Equipment Installer, Welder/Fabricator, Agricultural Equipment Technician, or Maintenance Technician may be a strong fit.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in various positions throughout the workday.
- Ability to work around large machinery and industrial equipment.
- Ability to lift and handle moderately heavy components with assistance and proper equipment.
- Ability to work safely around moving equipment, overhead lifting systems, and power tools.
Schedule & Compensation
- Full-time position

Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
