Position Overview
SMART Academy is seeking a passionate, student-centered Physical Education Teacher to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year. The ideal candidate will foster a positive, structured environment that promotes physical fitness, teamwork, and healthy lifestyle habits while aligning with our mission of developing the whole child.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging, standards-aligned physical education lessons for students in grades K–6
- Promote physical fitness, motor skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship
- Establish and maintain a structured, safe, and inclusive learning environment
- Implement school-wide behavior systems aligned with PBIS expectations
- Assess student progress and maintain accurate records of participation and growth
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to support whole-child development
- Organize and support school-wide events (field day, fitness challenges, etc.)
- Ensure proper use, care, and organization of equipment and facilities
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and families
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or related field
- Valid Ohio teaching license (Physical Education – P–12 preferred)
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
- Commitment to student growth, accountability, and high expectations
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in an urban or charter school setting
- Knowledge of PBIS and structured behavior systems
- Experience integrating health and wellness concepts into instruction
Salary & Benefits
- Salary Range: $42,530 – $58,975 (based on experience and qualifications)
