Role Overview: Geriatric Psychiatry
We are seeking a full-time Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide specialized psychiatric care within geriatric and skilled nursing facilities. As our behavioral health service continues its growth trajectory, we offer significant leadership opportunities for interested and experienced candidates. You will join a supportive interdisciplinary team, collaborating with LICSWs, medical NPs, MDs, and our medical director to deliver integrated, high-quality mental health interventions to an aging population.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Evaluation: Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnoses for geriatric patients within skilled nursing and senior living communities..
- Psychopharmacology: Provide expert psychopharmacological management and medication oversight tailored to the complex needs of geriatric populations.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate and collaborate effectively with Charter Health’s professional staff and clinical partners to ensure high-quality, team-based care.
- Documentation: Maintain timely, accurate, and legible psychiatric medical records, ensuring all patient care notes and billing are completed on the date of service.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and unrestricted license as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing (BORN).
- Certification: Current national certification in the PMHNP specialty through the ANCC, AANP, or another BORN-recognized certifying body.
- Registration: Valid Massachusetts Controlled Substance Registration (MCSR) and federal DEA registration.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience with independent practice authority is required.
- Payer Participation: Eligibility to participate in Medicare, Medicaid, and other third-party payer programs contracted by the Practice.
Professional Standards
- Regulatory Compliance: Strict adherence to 244 CMR 4.00 and all requirements of the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.
- Quality Standards: Compliance with The Joint Commission standards, APNA (American Psychiatric Nurses Association) standards of practice, and generally accepted professional standards of care.
- Privacy & Ethics: Absolute commitment to HIPAA regulations and relevant state mental health record laws regarding protected health information.
- Governance: Participation in and cooperation with utilization review, quality assurance, and risk management programs as required by Charter Health or accrediting bodies.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $150,000.00 - $225,000.00 per year
