Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated individual to join our team as a Busser, Food Runner, and Host. Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, manage reservations, and seat guests efficiently using our reservation system such as OpenTable or Aloha POS.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders from guests in person and via phone, ensuring clear communication with kitchen staff and servers.
- Deliver food orders promptly from the kitchen to tables while maintaining food safety standards and presentation quality.
- Assist with food preparation tasks when needed, including basic meal assembly or garnishing to support kitchen staff.
- Clear tables by bussing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and resetting tables quickly to maintain a clean and inviting dining area.
- Support beverage preparation by refilling drinks, handling bar supplies, or assisting with drink service as required.
- Handle cash transactions accurately using POS systems like Micros POS or Aloha POS, including processing payments and giving change.
- Maintain cleanliness of service areas by washing dishes, sanitizing utensils, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
- Provide exceptional guest services by addressing inquiries, accommodating special dietary needs, and fostering positive guest relations throughout their visit.
- Support delivery drivers or catering staff when necessary to ensure timely order fulfillment for off-site events or takeout orders.
Skills
- Proven experience in food service roles such as host/hostess, food runner, or server within a restaurant setting.
- Strong knowledge of food handling procedures, safety standards, and sanitation practices.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage positively with guests and team members.
- Basic math skills for processing payments accurately and managing cash handling responsibilities.
- Familiarity with POS systems including Micros POS, Aloha POS, or similar platforms for order entry and payment processing.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience with dishwashing, bussing, cleaning routines, and general restaurant upkeep to ensure a hygienic dining space.
- Knowledge of beverage preparation techniques and supporting bar service when needed.
- Previous experience in hospitality or guest services roles that emphasize customer satisfaction and guest relations.
