Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and quality standards
- Assist with food presentation, plating, and garnishing to ensure visually appealing dishes
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety protocols at all times
- Support meal preparation for catering events or special functions as needed
- Handle food handling responsibilities including portioning, packaging, and storage of ingredients
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy hours
- Follow all health and safety regulations to uphold a safe working environment
Requirements
- Previous experience in a food industry setting such as restaurant, catering, or dietary department preferred
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in food preparation and cooking techniques
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and food service operations
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with kitchen staff and servers
- Familiarity with dietary aide experience or dietary department work is a plus but not required
