Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assist in food prep to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Cook menu items with precision, following established recipes and presentation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces regularly.
- Support the kitchen team by handling food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures.
- Assist with meal assembly and plating during busy service times to ensure timely delivery.
- Follow all health regulations and safety guidelines to uphold a safe working environment.
- Contribute to menu planning discussions by providing feedback on dishes and ingredients.
Skills
- Experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is a plus, demonstrating familiarity with special dietary needs and food accommodations.
- Proven food preparation and cooking skills, including knife skills and meal assembly techniques.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, proper food handling, and sanitation practices within a restaurant or food service setting.
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations, including menu planning, catering support, and general food industry knowledge.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in food presentation and quality.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward serving customers and supporting colleagues.
