Chisholm Trail Veterinary Clinic in New Braunfels, Texas is seeking an experienced and motivated Medical Director (Managing Doctor of Veterinary Medicine – MDVM) to lead our growing, multi-service veterinary practice. This role is ideal for a veterinarian ready to advance into veterinary leadership and practice management while continuing to deliver high-quality clinical medicine.
As Medical Director, you will partner closely with the Practice Manager and regional leadership to guide the medical team, support associate veterinarians, and drive clinical excellence, compliance, and long-term practice growth.
Medical Director Responsibilities:
- Provide medical leadership and mentorship to associate veterinarians
Foster a positive, collaborative team environment that delivers exceptional patient care

Partner with the Practice Manager to support daily operations and staff development

Lead team meetings, conduct performance reviews, and support professional growth

- Develop and monitor medical protocols, compliance standards, and best practices
Collaborate with Regional Operations leadership on strategic planning and practice vision

Promote a culture of ethical, gold-standard veterinary medicine and financial sustainability

Qualifications & Experience:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent from an accredited institution

Active veterinary license in good standing

- 5+ years of clinical veterinary practice experience preferred
Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage teams using emotional intelligence

Strong communication, organization, and delegation abilities
