Homeschool Tutor Needed — 2nd Grade (Naples, FL)
Schedule: 3 days per week, 4-hour sessions (mornings preferred) Location: In-home, Naples, FL Start Date: ASAP Compensation: $35 - $40/hour
About the Role
A Naples, FL family is seeking a warm, patient, and engaged homeschool tutor for their 2nd grade student. The ideal candidate is comfortable following a structured curriculum while adapting lessons to the student's individual learning style and pace.
Curriculum
- Instruction will follow the Bridgeway Academy curriculum for 2nd grade.
- Core subjects include math, reading, writing, and language arts, with math being a strength to build on and writing/reading needing extra encouragement and creative reinforcement.
- Tutor should be comfortable using varied teaching methods (visual, auditory, hands-on) to keep lessons engaging.
Faith Integration
This is a Christian household, and the family would like their faith woven naturally into daily learning . A personal faith background and comfort discussing Christian values with a young student is a plus.
Ideal Candidate
- Experience tutoring or teaching elementary-age children, especially early elementary (K–3)
- Familiarity with Bridgeway Academy or similar accredited homeschool curricula is a strong plus
- Patient, encouraging teaching style, especially for a student who can be a perfectionist and gets easily frustrated
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working independently in a family home setting
- Strong communication skills with parents regarding progress and challenges
