Position Summary
Our IT Production Systems Team supports the ERP, MES, and SCADA systems that operate the Blythewood Production Center.
We are seeking an experienced IT Specialist – Plant Maintenance & EAM to support and optimize SAP Plant Maintenance (SAP PM) and productive asset management systems in a fast-paced OEM automotive manufacturing environment.
This role will partner closely with Plant Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, IT, SAP Basis, Security, AMS, and Development teams to ensure SAP PM supports reliable and efficient plant operations.
Most Important Requirements
- 8+ years of hands-on SAP Plant Maintenance (SAP PM) experience
- Experience managing, supporting, configuring, and enhancing SAP PM
- Strong understanding of preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance processes
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA, preferably Private Cloud
- Experience in manufacturing, plant maintenance, asset management, or an OEM environment
- Ability to gather business requirements and translate them into SAP solutions
- Experience with SAP PM configuration, including:
- Equipment Master
- Maintenance Plans
- Notifications
- Maintenance Orders
- Task Lists
- Work Centers
- Strong troubleshooting and production support experience
- Experience integrating SAP PM with other SAP modules
- Ability to work effectively with business users and technical teams
OEM automotive assembly plant experience is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
SAP PM / EAM
- Design, configure, implement, and support the SAP PM module in alignment with plant business objectives.
- Perform system health checks, troubleshoot issues, and provide ongoing SAP PM production support.
- Lead and support SAP PM implementations, enhancements, and process improvements.
- Configure and maintain SAP PM master data and processes, including equipment, maintenance plans, notifications, orders, task lists, and work centers.
- Support productive asset management and maintenance processes throughout the production environment.
- Identify opportunities to improve SAP PM processes, system performance, and user experience.
Business & IT Partnership
- Work directly with Plant Maintenance and business users to gather requirements and understand operational needs.
- Translate business requirements into functional SAP solutions and specifications.
- Partner with IT, SAP Basis, Security, AMS, and Development teams to resolve issues and deliver system enhancements.
- Support user acceptance, testing, implementation, and system readiness activities.
- Provide training and ongoing support to SAP PM key users and business users.
SAP Integration & System Support
- Support integration between SAP PM and other SAP modules, including MM, WM/EWM, FI, and CO.
- Monitor SAP PM system performance and recommend patches, upgrades, and improvements.
- Support SAP system changes and maintain accurate technical and functional documentation.
- Collaborate with SAP AMS and development teams to ensure reliable system performance and ongoing support.
QualificationsRequired
- 8+ years of SAP Plant Maintenance experience, including hands-on management and support of the SAP PM module.
- Strong knowledge of plant maintenance business processes, including preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance.
- Experience with SAP PM configuration and production support.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly identify and resolve SAP system issues.
- Experience gathering business requirements and developing functional specifications.
- Strong understanding of asset management and maintenance operations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative, and changing environment.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud experience.
- Full-cycle SAP PM implementation experience.
- Experience supporting an OEM automotive assembly plant.
- Automotive manufacturing or industrial asset management experience.
- Experience with SAP Fiori and mobile PM applications.
- Experience with SAP PM integration with MM, WM/EWM, FI, and CO.
- Experience in a greenfield manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting SAP patches, upgrades, and system enhancements.
- Experience working with SAP Basis, Security, AMS, and development teams.
Work Environment & Travel
- Blythewood, SC – minimum 4 days per week on-site.
- Ability to travel up to 15% domestically and internationally as needed.
- A valid passport is required for international travel.
