Responsibilities
- Greet guests with a friendly and positive attitude, providing a warm welcome as they arrive.
- Manage restaurant reservations efficiently using restaurant table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS.
- Escort guests to their tables, ensuring smooth seating arrangements and timely service flow.
- Answer incoming phone calls with professionalism, providing information about wait times, reservations, and general inquiries while maintaining proper phone etiquette.
- Maintain organized waitlists and communicate wait times clearly to guests, ensuring a positive guest experience.
- Support the hosting team by managing guest relations, addressing special requests, and providing exceptional customer service throughout their visit.
- Assist with basic food safety practices and uphold cleanliness standards in the host station area.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a host/hostess or in food service is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for hospitality is essential.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with guests and team members.
- Familiarity with restaurant reservation management and restaurant table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is highly desirable.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage reservations, waitlists, and guest flow efficiently.
- Basic math skills for handling seating arrangements and managing guest counts accurately.
- Knowledge of POS systems (Point of Sale), including Micros POS or Aloha POS, is a plus.
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly demeanor and positive attitude.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Understanding of food safety standards and proper hygiene practices in a restaurant environment.
