We are seeking skilled and motivated Welders to join our dynamic team in Mobile, Alabama. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components with precision and adherence to safety standards. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of construction projects, metal fabrication tasks, and mechanical assemblies. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to determine welding and assembly requirements.
- Perform various types of welding including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) according to AWS (American Welding Society) standards.
- Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, power tools, and hand tools to ensure precise measurements for metal fabrication and assembly.
- Cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal, metal materials, and other fabricated components using plasma cutting, machining, and other fabrication techniques.
- Operate cranes and other construction site equipment safely while adhering to all safety protocols.
- Measure materials accurately with shop math skills and use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot fabrication issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment while following all safety procedures during welding, cutting, grinding, and assembly tasks.
- Collaborate with team members on construction sites or in fabrication shops to complete projects efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
- Inspect completed welds using measuring instruments like calipers or micrometers to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Follow all safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents or injuries during welding or fabrication activities.
Qualifications
- Proven construction site experience with a strong understanding of safety procedures.
- Skilled in various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, with knowledge of AWS standards.
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical blueprints accurately.
- Experience working with sheet metal fabrication and metal materials in a construction or shop environment.
- Proficiency in using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and shop math for precise measurements.
- Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication processes, assembly techniques, machining operations, and use of power tools.
- Familiarity with construction site equipment such as cranes is a plus.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and mechanical blueprints effectively.
- Strong adherence to safety protocols combined with excellent hand tool skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Basic math skills necessary for measurement calculations and fabrication planning.
