Job Title: Installer / Field Mechanic - Sports Equipment & Audience Seating Construction
We are currently looking for a highly qualified Installation and field service technicians with a minimum of 1 year of experience in construction and/or mechanics. Starting hourly pay varies for each new hire and is based on qualifications, experience and competency for the industry. Regular pay increases are based on job performance and demonstrated skill level.
This position consists of Installation, repair and maintenance to telescopic bleacher systems, auditorium seating, basketball backstops, gym divider curtains, and various other specialized gym equipment.
-This is a full-time position consisting of 50+ hours/week (overtime pay is provided after exceeding 40 hours/week)
-Working days are Monday-Friday. Some Saturdays may be required during Summer time.
-Regular start time each day is 5:30am
**Candidates must be able to work a minimum of 10 hours per day on a need basis to qualify for the job position
-Ability to stay overnight for projects that our long distance (within the state of VA) is required at minimum of 1 week per month Monday - Thursday nights; Lodging expenses are paid for by the company + a daily add-on bonus of $100/night)
Pay and Benefits:
Starting pay is based on experience & qualifications that meet our specific needs.
Hourly pay increases and bonuses are given based on performance, acquired skill, knowledge, ability to work independently, job flexibility, and demonstrated work ethic
Hourly pay includes travel to and from job sites in company owned vehicles
Pay is WEEKLY direct deposit (each Thursday)
Health/dental insurance is offered after 90 days of employment
401k retirement plan after 1 year of employment
Paid holidays off after 90-days of employment (observed holidays only)
Preferred Experience:
-Power tools, hand tools, precise measurements, machinery, assembly, mechanics, forklift and scissor lift experience,
-Carpentry / Fabrication
-A strong background in managing and leading field crews / communications with dispatchers
-3+ years of construction / mechanical experience is preferred
-Building, installation, welding, electrical and heavy equipment operation experience is highly preferred
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
Installation, maintenance, and repair of gymnasium bleachers, auditorium seating, and professional athletic equipment
Communicating with dispatch and project management office staff on a daily basis
Utilizing hand and power tools to install, disassemble, and repair various types of equipment
Follow directions as provided by project management to execute jobs in the field as efficiently as possible
Ensure complete protection of customer’s property and TJ Distributors company property
Maintain a positive attitude, work well in teams and promote a safe working environment
Required Skills and Abilities:
-Ability to pass a DOT exam to obtain certification
-Strong knowledge of tools, hardware, building materials and problem solving
-Ability to take precise measurements for fabricating/cutting materials
-Ability to communicate, read, understand, and apply written text to work reports
-Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
-Ability to climb, kneel, bend, and stand for long periods of time
-Ability to be inside of a company work vehicle for extended periods of time to travel to and from job sites each day
-Demonstrate the ability to use critical thinking, problem solving, strong attention to detail, active listening and learning, following direction, and working effectively in teams
-Great manual dexterity and control precision
Requirements for pre-employment:
-Valid drivers license
-Must be willing to undergo a Criminal background check & drug-screening
-Minimum 18 years of age
-Documentation / work authorization to work legally in the U.S.
-Social Security Card and/or Birth Certificate
-Reliable transportation for commuting to and from job location in Henrico, VA 23231

Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
