Job Summary
DVE Smokehouse Café is seeking a friendly, dependable, and professional Server to join our opening team. The Server will provide excellent customer service by welcoming guests, taking accurate orders, serving food and beverages, processing payments, and helping maintain a clean and inviting dining environment.
The ideal candidate is attentive, reliable, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced café environment. Servers must communicate well with customers, kitchen staff, and other team members while helping create a positive dining experience.
Servers keep their tips.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Provide menus and answer questions about menu items.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders.
- Enter orders correctly into the POS system.
- Communicate special requests or customer concerns to the kitchen.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and accurately.
- Check on guests throughout their dining experience.
- Process cash, credit/debit card, and other approved payments accurately.
- Maintain responsibility for assigned transactions.
- Keep tables, chairs, and service areas clean and organized.
- Clear and reset tables as needed.
- Restock napkins, utensils, condiments, cups, and other supplies.
- Assist with opening and closing duties.
- Complete assigned side work before the end of each shift.
- Follow food-safety and sanitation procedures.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance.
- Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure accurate and timely orders.
- Assist coworkers during busy periods.
- Handle customer concerns respectfully and notify management when assistance is needed.
- Follow DVE Smokehouse Café policies and customer-service standards.
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant, serving, hospitality, or customer-service experience preferred.
- Strong communication and customer-service skills.
- Friendly, respectful, and professional attitude.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multitask while maintaining order accuracy.
- Comfortable handling cash and card transactions.
- POS-system experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, kitchen staff, and management.
- Willingness to clean, restock, and assist other team members when needed.
- Ability to follow company policies and management instructions.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Must be willing to complete required food-safety training or certification.
- Must be able to perform the essential duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Pay: $16.00 - $17.50 per hour
