Administrative Assistant to the Office of Diocesan and International Missions
The Administrative Assistant to the Office of Diocesan and International Missions is a position in service to the work of the Mission Office. Among many other duties, the Mission Office of the Diocese of Erie supports the Mission of Friendship outreach in Yucatan, Mexico, organizes the annual Missionary Cooperative Program in the parishes of the Diocese of Erie and fosters support for the Pontifical Mission Societies and general mission education throughout the Diocese of Erie. The Diocese of Erie is a collaborative, mission-oriented organization which prioritizes teamwork.
Hours: Monday – Friday (8am – Noon); 20 hrs. per week - some flexibility possible
Salary: $17.50 /hr.
Location: St. Mark Catholic Center
Job Responsibilities
- Answers the main telephone in professional and friendly manner.
- Greet visitors to department and refer/forward calls to appropriate staff members
- Maintain and utilize database software to track incoming information.
- Manages donations, donor correspondence, and various other office communication and data management tasks.
- Prepare lists and items for bulk mailings.
- Provides support for other major events, programs, and workshops.
- Provides statistical reports and generates monthly donation reports.
- Processes mailings and generates annual tax letters.
- Provides support, as necessary, for content management of the Mission Office website.
- Processes account payables and reimbursements.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Experience and Skills
- 1-2 years administrative assistant experience is preferred
- Must be personable with excellent communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision.
- Ability to write professional correspondence (letters, emails, memos, etc.)
- Experience with Canva is also preferred.
- Ability to maintain a high level of professional confidentiality
- Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including PowerPoint and Excel
- A minimum of a high school education, bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Working knowledge of Spanish is a plus
