American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of experience and an NM or compact RN license.
-
Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a hospital environment
-
13-week assignment on night shift (4x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
-
Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
-
Patient ratio of 1:6
-
Uses Epic charting system
-
Every other weekend (EOW) required
-
Floating required to like units within scope as needed
-
Active RN license (NM or Compact) required, pending compact accepted if obtained prior to start
-
Current BLS certification
-
2 years of Med/Surg experience preferred
-
Epic charting experience required
-
Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line and PICC line management, blood product administration
-
Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube management, and oxygen administration
-
Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
-
Telemetry monitoring experience (on-unit and remote)

Experience with medication administration including Heparin, Insulin, and PCA
-
Provide direct medical-surgical nursing care including cardiac monitoring and emergency response support

Complete onsite orientation modules averaging 4-6 hours upon starting

Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible; locals are not accepted

Former staff members must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler

RTO must be listed at time of submission with no RTO allowed during the first week of orientation
