Zimmerman Steel & Supply Co. LLC is seeking a motivated SolidWorks Production Engineer to join our growing team. This is a hands-on engineering role where your designs become real products on the shop floor. You'll work closely with production, sales, and customers to develop practical, manufacturable solutions for a wide variety of fabricated steel, stainless steel, and aluminum components.

What You'll Do
- Create detailed 3D models and production drawings using SolidWorks
- Design weldments, assemblies, sheet metal, and structural steel components
- Develop manufacturing drawings, bills of materials, and cut lists
- Create flat patterns, DXF files, and fabrication documentation for laser cutting, forming, and welding
- Review customer drawings and specifications for manufacturability
- Work directly with production personnel to resolve engineering and fabrication challenges
- Support estimating by developing concepts and material requirements
- Improve existing products and manufacturing processes to reduce cost and improve quality
- Coordinate engineering changes and maintain drawing revisions
- Assist with prototype development through full production launch
- Participate in customer meetings when technical support is required

Experience Preferred
- Experience using SolidWorks
- Ability to create production and fabrication drawings
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Experience in metal fabrication, welding, sheet metal, or manufacturing is a plus
No engineering degree is required. We value experience, initiative, and the ability to get the job done over formal education.
