Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Elderly Caregiver to provide exceptional support and assistance to seniors in a home or community setting. This vital role involves delivering personalized care that promotes independence, dignity, and well-being for our elderly residents. Responsibilities
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs and observing for any changes in condition
- Administer medications following care plans and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality
- Support residents with memory care, dementia, Alzheimer’s, and neurodevelopmental disorders through specialized techniques and patience
- Maintain detailed documentation of patient care activities, progress notes, and incident reports in accordance with healthcare standards
- Perform light cleaning duties to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for residents
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized care plans
Skills
- Proven experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments
- Strong patient observation skills to detect changes in condition or behavior promptly
- Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer’s, memory care, hospice care, and intellectual disabilities support
- Ability to perform patient monitoring, medication administration, CPR, first aid, and basic life support (BLS) procedures
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to protect resident privacy at all times
- Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is a plus
- Competence in manual handling techniques including heavy lifting and patient transfer methods
- Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration
- Ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail in caregiving tasks
