Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing in overseeing the clinical operations of our home health agency. The ADON will help ensure compliance with federal, state, and accreditation standards while supporting our team of nurses, therapists, and home health staff in delivering exceptional patient care.
This is an excellent opportunity for a registered nurse with home health leadership experience who enjoys mentoring staff, maintaining quality standards, and contributing to agency growth.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Nursing with the day-to-day clinical operations of the agency.
- Supervise and support nursing staff and other clinical personnel.
- Review and coordinate patient admissions, recertifications, resumptions of care, transfers, and discharges.
- Ensure compliance with Medicare Conditions of Participation, Nevada regulations, and CHAP accreditation standards.
- Participate in clinical record reviews and quality assurance/performance improvement (QAPI) activities.
- Monitor physician orders, plan of care updates, and documentation for accuracy and timeliness.
- Assist with staff orientation, training, competency evaluations, and ongoing education.
- Participate in case conferences and interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Help prepare for surveys, audits, and accreditation visits.
- Provide clinical guidance and problem-solving support to field staff.
- Participate in the on-call rotation as needed.
- Promote excellent patient outcomes and a culture of teamwork and accountability.
QualificationsRequired
- Active Nevada Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Minimum of 3-4 years of home health experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience in home health.
- Strong knowledge of Medicare home health regulations and Conditions of Participation.
- Experience with OASIS documentation.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
- Experience with EMR systems
Preferred
- Previous Assistant Director of Nursing or Director of Nursing experience.
- Experience with WellSky/Kinnser or similar electronic medical record systems.
- CHAP, ACHC, or Joint Commission survey experience.
- BSN preferred.
