Our client, a High-end Japanese restaurant is looking for a Assistant General Manager who supports the General Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations, team leadership, guest experience, and financial performance. This role serves as the GM's second-in-command and is designed for individuals with the potential to grow into a General Manager position.

Assist in managing daily restaurant operations and service execution.

Oversee opening/closing procedures and maintain operational standards.

Monitor labor, food, and beverage costs.

Prepare operational, reservation, and sales reports.

Support inventory management, scheduling, and process improvements.

Recruit, onboard, train, and coach restaurant staff.

Assist with scheduling, performance evaluations, and employee development.

Lead manager meetings and support continuous operational improvements.

Partner with HR and the General Manager on staffing and employee relations.

Ensure exceptional guest service and resolve customer concerns.

Support guest retention and loyalty initiatives.

Maintain high hospitality standards throughout every service.

3+ years of management experience in fine dining, luxury hospitality, or upscale restaurants.

5+ years of overall hospitality industry experience preferred.

Experience with restaurant operations and POS systems.

Business-level English.

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Authorized to work in the U.S.

Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business, or related field.

Conversational Japanese.

Strong interest in Japanese cuisine and culture.

California Food Manager Certification (ServSafe or equivalent).

RBS Certification.

Sommelier certification.
