Job Overview
We are seeking a dependable and motivated Maintenance / Production Technician to support both maintenance and manufacturing operations in a fast-paced production environment. This hybrid position is responsible for performing routine building and equipment maintenance while also assisting with production activities to support daily operational needs.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, and enjoys a hands-on role with a variety of responsibilities. This position performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and general facility upkeep while supporting production by assisting with equipment operation, material handling, and end-of-day production shutdown activities. Experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred, and experience with leather-processing equipment is a plus but not required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, machinery, facility systems, and building infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and perform minor mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and facility repairs.
- Repair or replace equipment components, parts, and building fixtures as needed.
- Assist with equipment installation, setup, adjustments, and preventive maintenance activities.
- Support daily production operations by performing assigned production tasks and operating production equipment after receiving appropriate training.
- Load, feed, remove, and handle hides, sides, and other materials on and off the Sprayline to support production flow.
- Monitor hides and materials during processing and immediately notify management of any quality concerns, equipment malfunctions, or production issues before continuing work.
- Assist with equipment setup, production changeovers, and material movement throughout the facility.
- Perform end-of-day production shutdown procedures, including cleaning the Sprayline, shutting down machinery according to established procedures, and preparing equipment for the next production shift.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by performing housekeeping duties throughout the facility.
- Accurately document maintenance activities and communicate equipment concerns or repair needs to management.
- Follow all Company safety policies, operating procedures, and required use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report to work on time for all scheduled shifts and maintain regular, reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support production operations and the overall needs of the business.
Qualifications
- Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, commercial, or production environment preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to safely use hand and power tools.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and facility maintenance.
- Welding experience is a plus but not required.
- Experience with leather-processing equipment or within a leather manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and communicate findings effectively.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills for documenting maintenance activities and communicating repair status.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
- Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and production equipment.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with moving machinery, varying temperatures, dust, and moderate to high noise levels.

8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
This position is scheduled through the end of the production day and is responsible for assisting with production shutdown procedures, including cleaning the Sprayline, shutting down machinery, completing end-of-day housekeeping tasks, and preparing the facility for the next production shift.
