Evansen & Associates P.S. is a small law firm located in downtown Vancouver, WA specializing in Public Defense.
We currently have immediate openings for 2 full-time indigent criminal defense attorneys.
These positions require work from our office as well as mandatory in-person court appearances and jail visits. The best fit would be an independent, fast learner with strong communication skills. We seek self-starters who are flexible and organized to join our growing public defense team.
One position is for an experienced attorney who can handle misdemeanors as well as felonies and supervise entry level misdemeanor attorneys. The second position is for an entry level misdemeanor attorney.
Ideal candidates should have ability to work compassionately and efficiently with clients of all ages from diverse backgrounds, who may also be suffering with chemical dependency, homelessness, developmental disabilities and mental health issues.
For the entry level position, we are open to hiring and mentoring recent graduates or candidates who have recently passed the WA State Bar Exam – this employment would be on an hourly basis until the employee is fully licensed. Court experience preferred but not required.
After 90 days of employment as a full-time attorney, employees are eligible to participate in firm retirement plans and medical insurance plans. Opportunities for student loan interest payments and signing bonuses to be determined. Salary dependent on experience and qualifications - to be discussed post interview.
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
