This position involves hands-on painting tasks. Key responsibilities include preparing surfaces, mixing paints, applying finishes, and assisting with the production of artworks. This role requires a combination of artistic skill, organizational talent, and a willingness to support various studio operations. Advanced knowledge of various painting techniques and an understanding of anatomy and structure is required.
Hands-on duties
- Artistic production: Assisting with the creation of artworks, which may include underpainting, blocking in, and applying finishes.
- Surface preparation: Preparing canvases, stretching materials, and preparing surfaces for painting.
- Material management: Mixing paints, oils, and other mediums to achieve desired colors and consistencies.
- General assistance: Handling tasks like cleaning, organizing tools and materials, and moving supplies.
Required skills and qualifications
- Artistic foundation: Basic understanding of painting techniques and
- Physical stamina: Capable of performing tasks that require physical labor, such as moving equipment and supplies.
- Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm Full-Time in Studio (we do not offer part-time or remote working)
- Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to the needs of the studio, which may change frequently.
