Job Description
Practices as a registered professional nurse with advance knowledge in the area of practice includes the roles of clinical expert, educator, consultant, researcher and leader. The Clinical Nurse Facilitator models professional nursing practice through collecting and maintaining accurate patient information to assure the integrity of the program registry, assessing this information, interacting with interdisciplinary teams and program team members to meet the quality initiatives of the program. In collaborations with the Trauma Program Manager and Medical Director, facilitates all aspects of the Trauma service. Complies with all regulatory agency guidelines as well as Kaleida policies and standards of practice.
BS - Bachelor of Science Nursing or Specialty Area Certification upon hire/transfer or within 3 years required. Registered Nurse required upon hire. Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) within 1 Year required. ATS Trauma Reg Course within 1 Year required. Cert Exam Trauma Reg (CSTR) within 30 Months required. NYS Drivers' license or ability to utilize mode of transportation to meet travel needs of position which are within and out-of-state. For 10517 - CHOB Trauma Center: Regulatory requirement to complete Trauma Outcomes Performance Improvement Course (TOPIC) within one year of position.
Experience
2 years of experience in Area of specialty (Critical Care) required. Microsoft Windows 7 ability to utilize windows-based applications to meet the needs of the position required. Prefer previous working knowledge of ICD coding and Injury Severity Scores (ISS) which would assist in comprehension of chart review.

Internal applicants must have a minimum of nine (9) continuous months of comparable work experience within two (2) years of the time the per diem job is posted. External applicants must have a minimum of one (1) continuous year of comparable work experience within two (2) years of the time the per diem job is posted. All applicants will be required to satisfy all orientation/probationary requirements.**
