Centerpointe Aerospace Transportation is a veteran-owned motor carrier specializing in ground transportation of helicopters and aviation fuel. We have IMMEDIATE openings for professional, company OTR Truck Drivers. Prospective employees MUST have HAZMAT/Tanker and manual transmission experience. Oversized/heavy haul, removeable gooseneck (RGN), or lowboy trailer experience is a significant plus.
Driver will serve in two primary roles - aircraft transporter and fuel support driver for USFS forest firefighting missions. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient loading/unloading and transportation of aircraft and other cargo to various destinations in the U.S. and Canada. Additionally, you will be imbedded with a forest fire helicopter crew to provide fueling support to the aircraft during fire season. Paid training for all aspects of job will be provided. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate and drive manual and automatic trucks to transport oversized loads and equipment.
- Ensure strict adherence to all traffic laws, regulations, and safety standards.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles and equipment.
- Secure specialty cargo properly using chains, binders, straps, and other equipment to prevent shifting or damage during transit. (load/unload training will be provided)
- Plan routes, obtain oversize permits, and determine the best course of action, considering factors such as road conditions, weather, and traffic.
- Communicate effectively with management, customer, and other team members.
- Complete necessary paperwork and maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption and delivery times.
- Perform minor maintenance/upkeep of vehicles and equipment
REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 23+ years of age
- Valid CDL Class A and medical (MEC)
- TWIC required (or ability to obtain one)
- Minimum three (3) years of CDL A experience
- Minimum one (1) year OTR experience
- Experience with RGN / Lowboy trailers or oversized/heavy haul a significant PLUS
- HAZMAT and Tanker experience/endorsement
- Ability to drive manual transmission (no automatic-only restriction)
- No major CMV moving violations in previous three (3) years
- No more than two (2) minor CMV moving violations in previous three (3) years
- Knowledge and understanding of Department of Transportation (DOT) and current FMCSA rules and regulations and ensuring compliance with these guidelines.
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills (English required)
- Dedicated team player with strong reliable work ethic a MUST
- Time management and problem-solving skills a MUST
- Ability to work flexible schedule and overtime as required (including irregular hours, out of town, weekends and holidays). Must be willing to stay on the road for up to 21 days at a time. (During fire support, USFS mandates no more than 12 consecutive days on duty)
