At AOR, we provide compassionate, community-based mental health services that empower individuals to take ownership of their recovery. We’re hiring an RCM Authorizations Coordinator to join our Revenue Cycle Management team and support the insurance authorization, eligibility, and credentialing processes that keep client services moving and help ensure timely reimbursement.
In this role, you’ll work closely with clinical, operational, and revenue cycle teams while serving as a key point of contact with Medicare, Medicaid, Illinois HFS, Managed Care Organizations (MCOs), and commercial insurance carriers. - Obtain initial, concurrent, and reauthorizations to support uninterrupted client services
- Submit authorization requests and monitor them through approval, denial, or required follow-up
- Track clients, payers, authorizations, and authorization status using Excel and other systems
- Communicate authorization approvals, denials, and follow-up requirements to clinical and operational staff
- Collaborate with clinicians to ensure documentation supports medical necessity and payer requirements
- Serve as a primary contact with HFS, Medicare, Medicaid, MCOs, and commercial insurance carriers regarding authorization and credentialing matters
- Coordinate provider and organizational site credentialing requirements with government and commercial payers
- Maintain current knowledge of payer-specific authorization and credentialing requirements
- Review authorization reports to identify trends, barriers, denials, and opportunities for improvement
- Provide education and guidance to staff regarding payer requirements and authorization processes
- Support revenue cycle initiatives focused on improving efficiency, reducing denials, and maximizing reimbursement
- Assist with other projects and responsibilities as assigned
What We’re Looking For

- 3–5 years of healthcare experience, particularly working with Medicaid or Managed Medicaid plans
- 1–3 years of healthcare revenue cycle experience, such as authorizations, billing, coding, collections, or charge capture
- Strong understanding of insurance authorization requirements and Medicaid processes
- Knowledge of provider credentialing with government and commercial payers
