Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Elementary tutor for a 1st grader for Reading, Writing, and some Math. A bright, eager, young student.
NO Online Tutoring for this student.
Tutoring to take place In-person in the student's Napa home. Weekday tutoring required anytime between 10:00am and 1:00 pm with flexibility. 1-2 hours/week.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and be able to provide educational and motivational support with engagement skills using kindness, care and patience.
One-on-one or small group tutoring experience preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent tutoring using positive reinforcement and building self confidence.
- Skilled tutoring, teaching using the student's own curriculum and real time assignments.
- Ability to simplify concepts, help build better study habits and organizational skills if needed.
- Help to improve academic performance and praise small victories with a step by step approach.
- Assist students with guidance and understanding of course materials and meeting their individual academic needs.
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum Bachelor's degree.
- Former teachers/subs are encouraged to apply. A teaching credential is not required.
- Proficiency in Elementary reading, writing, math.
- Minimum 2 years experience working with students.
- Excellent communication skills with Parents, Students, Company Admin.
- Simplify concepts and adaptability with different student earning styles.
- Basic technical skills for reporting sessions on our tutor platform, writing concise student progress notes, and communicate in a timely manner.

Our tutor rate is $33/hour for In-Home and Online tutoring. All tutors are remote professionals.
