Production Associate
Blackbird Farms is seeking a full-time associate to assist with farm-to-table, food processing work at our workshop in Colonial Beach, VA.
About the Job/Requirements
- Pay and Hours: $20/hr, 40 hours/week, Salaried W2 position, Full Time
- Assist with:
- Poultry processing, fine butchery, and meat packing
- Egg sorting, washing and packing
- Inventory management and cold storage organization (0F - 38F)
- Able to follow Standard Operating Procedures for assigned tasks while remaining flexible to the day-to-day needs of the business
- Able to work in a group setting as well as unsupervised
Physical requirements:
- Comfortable working in both hot and cold environments
- Comfortable being trained on and operating heavy machinery in an occasionally noisy environment
- Able to lift at least 50+lbs from the floor
- Able to stand on your feet for entire shift
- Able to work directly and in an environment with raw meat, live poultry, sight of blood, viscera, and animal waste, etc.
- We have a substantial social media presence, so you’ll need to be comfortable being filmed performing your job duties
- Punctuality is *extremely* important

- We feed about 200 families and 20 restaurants, grocers, and schools between Washington, D.C., Richmond, Charlottesville, and Baltimore, and well as the Northern Neck
