Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Staff Pharmacist to join our team in a full-time or part-time capacity. Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications accurately while adhering to all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine appropriate medication therapy and provide counseling on medication use, side effects, and interactions.
- Manage pharmacy operations efficiently, including inventory management, medication compounding, and ensuring compliance with USP 797 standards for sterile preparations.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers on medical management plans, including pain management, immunizations, and chronic disease therapy.
- Lead and manage pharmacy teams by providing guidance on pharmacy procedures, staff training, and maintaining high standards of patient service.
- Ensure pharmaceutical regulatory compliance by maintaining documentation in accordance with HIPAA, pharmacy confidentiality policies, and drug regulation requirements.
- Utilize pharmacy software systems (PIS) and electronic health records (EHR) to document patient interactions accurately and streamline workflow.
- Administer immunizations and perform IV infusions using aseptic techniques while maintaining safety protocols such as Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Educate patients on medication administration techniques, physiology, anatomy relevant to their treatment, and promote health literacy.
- Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA and pharmacy laws at the federal and state levels while supporting clinical confidentiality policies.
Skills
- Proven experience in retail pharmacy settings such as hospital or LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacies with acute care or pediatrics focus.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, physiology, anatomy, drug regulation, and medical terminology.
- Demonstrated ability to practice as a pharmacist with experience in managing pharmacy teams or supervising pharmacy technicians.
- Proficiency in pharmacy information systems (PIS), EMR (Electronic Medical Records), EHR systems, and inventory management tools.
- Excellent client communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence in community or hospital environments.
- Experience with compounding medications safely following USP 797 standards for sterile preparations.
- Ability to perform medication administration procedures including IV insertion/infusion with aseptic technique.
- Familiarity with healthcare compliance standards such as HIPAA, medical management protocols, immunizations administration, and drug regulation policies.
- Critical care experience or practicing in acute care settings is highly desirable; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) are preferred.

Pay: $70.00 - $77.00 per hour
