Job Overview
The Lead Blender/Cook is responsible for preparing, blending, and cooking products according to batch sheets and mix instructions. This role requires strong technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment, adherence to food safety and GMP standards, and the ability to guide and support blending associates. The Lead Blender/Cook ensures production goals are met while maintaining quality, safety, and cleanliness standards.
Schedule Details: Monday–Friday, 4:00 PM–12:30 AM with additional overtime opportunities available.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate equipment such as pumps, mixers, kettles, heat exchangers, and scales.
- Drive and operate forklifts safely as needed.
- Read, interpret, and follow batch sheets and mix instructions accurately.
- Work independently to produce quality products in compliance with GMPs and safety guidelines.
- Maintain raw ingredient inventory, monitor usage, and report shortages promptly.
- Adhere to FIFO (First-In, First-Out) when preparing pre-weigh tickets.
- Clean and sanitize lines, tanks, fillers, and pumps using COP/CIP processes.
- Safely lift up to 50 lbs. as required by the position.
- Complete all required documentation clearly, accurately, and legibly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Utilize Plex system functions for all batching processes.
- Communicate effectively with QA, scheduling, operations, and other Blenders/Cooks.
- Communicate via email with company associates when necessary.
- Provide daily guidance and support to blending associates, ensuring proper training, safe practices, and compliance with procedures.
- Act as a point of contact in the absence of the Blender/Cook.
- Ensure that your team and yourself complete required Alchemy Training each month.
- Must be able to enter work orders in Plex to address any mechanical issues.
- Strong understanding of the use of pumps, valves, tools, etc., which are required for the position.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a food or beverage manufacturing plant is preferred.
- Experience with forklift operation required.
- Leadership or team guidance experience is strongly preferred.
- Must have strong math skills
- Must have experience with reading and understand batch tickets.
- Experience with Pasteurizer would be helpful
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
