Phoenix Industrial Services has partnered with a well-established steel company in Monroe, MI that is seeking general Steel Workers to join their team!
In this position, you will be responsible for assembling, welding, fabricating, and reworking steel components with precision and adherence to safety standards.

Duties
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to guide assembly and welding processes
- Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math to ensure accurate dimensions and fit-up of metal components
- Operate power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment to cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal and other metal materials
- Perform MIG welding techniques in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards
- Measure, cut, drill, and assemble metal parts using calipers, measuring instruments, and shop math for precise fabrication
- Maintain a clean work environment by adhering to safety procedures, inspecting equipment regularly, and following all safety protocols during operations
Qualified candidates will have a solid understanding of the steel fabrication processes, a proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings accurately, and hands-on experience with MIG welding. Basis math skills and a familiarity with using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools also required.
