Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically adept Technical Sales Engineer to join our great team. This individual will serve as a critical liaison between our engineering team and our clients, ensuring our technical offerings are communicated effectively to both business, and technical decision-makers. As a key part of our sales process, this role requires a deep understanding of our products, the ability to quickly interpret and explain technical concepts, and the talent to convey them in a manner that aligns with the client’s needs and objectives.
You will also be responsible for generating detailed and accurate cost estimates for proposed solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and management, to ensure that all proposals, presentations, and documentation are accurate, compelling, and timely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Content Development: Write, develop, and present technical proposals and product descriptions that align with client needs.
- Client-Focused Solutions: Translate complex technical solutions into clear, compelling language that resonates with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with engineering, product, and management teams to gather accurate information for proposals and ensure all technical content is aligned with our capabilities.
- Cost Estimation: Generate accurate, detailed costing and Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) estimates for proposed solutions, ensuring clarity in pricing and feasibility.
- Client Engagement: Participate in client meetings, calls, and presentations to explain technical details and answer queries.
- Content Accuracy: Ensure all written communication is both technically precise and reflective of the client’s expectations and terminology.
- Proposal Management: Work on multiple projects concurrently, managing the creation and submission of proposals in a timely fashion.
- Technical Organization: Develop and implement a system to organize and categorize digital files for reference in generating future proposals. Support the development of technical standards and methods for photographing, cataloging, using, and archiving unique equipment.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a Technical Sales Engineer or similar role.
- Exceptional writing and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to translate technical jargon into clear, accessible language.
- Ability to generate and interpret technical documentation, cost estimates, and engineering concepts.
- Strong collaboration skills, with experience working across departments to gather information and ensure content accuracy.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects.
- Proven ability to handle high-pressure environments and meet deadlines.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance Requirements:
To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
Preferred Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Communications or related field.
- Proficient in Business Software Applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe.
- Some 3D CAD experience.
