Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Business Office Manager Assistant for our 144-bed Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF). This essential role supports the daily operations of the Business Office Department, ensuring accurate billing, collections, admissions coordination, and resident account management in compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations. The ideal candidate will have prior SNF business office experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment while providing exceptional customer service to residents, families, and healthcare partners.
Duties
- Assist the Business Office Manager with daily operations of the business office within a 144-bed Skilled Nursing Facility.
- Support Medicare, Medi-Cal, Managed Care, private pay billing, and collections processes to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement.
- Review and maintain resident financial records, insurance information, authorizations, and admission documentation.
- Assist with accounts receivable management, including follow-up on outstanding balances and communication with residents, responsible parties, and insurance providers.
- Verify census accuracy and support daily, weekly, and monthly census reconciliation processes.
- Utilize Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and billing systems for data entry, documentation, and account management.
- Collaborate with Admissions, Nursing, and Clinical teams to ensure accurate resident information and payer source documentation.
- Assist with processing resident trust accounts, cash receipts, and financial transactions in accordance with facility policies.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and all federal, state, and facility guidelines related to SNF billing and collections.
- Prepare reports related to accounts receivable, collections, billing activity, and insurance follow-up.
- Provide professional customer service and support to residents, families, vendors, and healthcare partners.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) business office is required.
- Experience with Medicare, Medi-Cal, Managed Care, and private insurance billing preferred.
- Knowledge of SNF billing practices, collections, accounts receivable, and admission processes.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems and healthcare billing software.
- Strong understanding of healthcare compliance regulations including HIPAA.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills when interacting with residents, families, insurance providers, and staff.
- Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office applications.

Pay: $25.26 - $30.43 per hour
