Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Paralegal/Case Manager to join our legal team. Duties
- Assist attorneys with legal research utilizing Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to gather relevant case law and statutory information across various practice areas.
- Manage legal case files using document management systems such as iManage and PCLaw, ensuring all documents are accurately organized, updated, and accessible.
- Draft, proofread, and review legal documents including contracts, pleadings, correspondence, and reports with precision and attention to detail.
- Conduct interviews with clients and witnesses to gather case information while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Support litigation processes through document review, discovery coordination, filing court documents electronically or physically, and tracking case deadlines.
- Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, transcription, and maintaining calendars for court dates or client meetings.
- Provide executive administrative support by managing phone etiquette, organizing meetings, preparing reports, and coordinating internal communications.
- Conduct thorough legal research on specialized topics such as UCC law (Uniform Commercial Code), workers' compensation law, landlord-tenant issues, tribal regulations, patent law, securities regulations, and more.
- Assist with project management tasks related to ongoing cases or legal initiatives to ensure timely progress and compliance with deadlines.
- Support the team in maintaining compliance with legal standards by reviewing documents for accuracy and consistency.
Experience
- Proven paralegal experience in a law office setting with exposure to multiple practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, family law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law or litigation.
- Strong understanding of legal administrative processes such as document review, case management software (iManage), legal research platforms (Westlaw & LexisNexis), and document drafting tools.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective interviewing skills combined with professional phone etiquette for client interactions.
- Demonstrated proficiency in project management principles within a legal environment.
- Experience supporting attorneys through executive administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings or preparing reports is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with clerical tasks including data entry, filing systems (physical or digital), proofreading documents for accuracy and clarity.
