Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Digital Pattern Maker to support the development and refinement of complex fashion garments. This role requires strong technical expertise in digital pattern making, with a deep understanding of garment construction—particularly armhole (sleeve/armhole) development.
The ideal candidate must be capable of working closely with China-based factories, reviewing and correcting their patterns, and ensuring consistency between design intent and production output.
Duties
- Create, modify, and finalize garment patterns using digital pattern making software (e.g., Gerber, Lectra, CLO)
- Independently develop patterns for complex fashion styles (not limited to basic garments)
- Specialize in armhole (sleeve/armhole) construction, fitting, and correction
- Review, evaluate, and correct patterns provided by China-based factories
- Communicate directly with factory pattern makers in China to align on technical details and standards
- Apply knowledge of fabric properties (e.g., stretch, drape, shrinkage) to pattern adjustments
- Participate in fittings, identify issues, and implement pattern corrections efficiently
- Collaborate with designers and internal teams to ensure design feasibility and execution
- Maintain organized pattern files and technical documentation
- Support production by resolving pattern-related issues during bulk manufacturing
Skills
- Minimum 5 years of professional pattern making experience (required)
- Proficient in digital pattern making software (Gerber, Lectra, CLO, or equivalent)
- Strong expertise in armhole (sleeve) construction and correction (critical requirement)
- Proven ability to develop patterns for complex fashion garments
- Familiar with Chinese pattern making systems (e.g., ET, Richpeace) and able to read/edit factory patterns
- Experience working with China-based factories and pattern makers; able to assess and correct their work
- Solid understanding of various fabric types and their impact on pattern development
- Fluent in Chinese (reading and writing required)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
