Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic *Restaurant General Manager* to lead our team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, a passion for food service, and a comprehensive understanding of restaurant operations in a special unique restaurant with an indoor kitchen, outdoor kitchen and boutique. This role requires a proactive leader capable of overseeing daily restaurant functions, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining operational excellence in a fast-paced environment. We are a small business in a unique historic area with an indoor kitchen, outdoor kitchen, coffee-bar and boutique.
Duties
OVERSEE: Oversee all aspects of restaurant operations, including overseeing food preparation, kitchen management, boutique merchandise and customer service
HR: Manage staff hiring, training, and development to ensure high standards of service and food quality. Lead team meetings, conduct performance evaluations, and foster a positive work environment focused on teamwork and leadership
Shift Schedules: Supervise daily shift management, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to safety and sanitation standards
Inventory: Control inventory levels, monitor food safety practices, and manage food handling procedures to meet regulatory requirements
POS System-Reports: Utilize POS systems such as Toast and Micros POS for order processing, cash handling, and sales tracking
Business Goals: Manage against budgeting strategies and monitor financial performance to meet business goals
Food Serve: Ensure compliance with health regulations and maintain high standards of hospitality management
Merchandise: Work closely with owner on all merchandise opportunities, ordering, inventory management, display/stocking
Customer Service: Handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints promptly to ensure excellent customer service
Social Media-PR-Marketing: Work closely with owner on social media, PR, in outlet and out of outlet marketing initiatives, local business partnerships (local churches, Lindenwood University, other)
Cooking: Trained and willing to cook in high volume time periods
Experience
Proven management experience in the food industry with a background in restaurant management or hospitality management
Extensive knowledge of food service operations including casual dining, quick service & fast food restaurants, catering, and bar services
Strong supervisory skills with experience in staff training & development as well as interviewing potential team members
Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast POSand Micros POS; cash handling experience required
Experience managing inventory control, budgeting, food safety standards, and food production processes
Background in bar/kitchen management is highly desirable; experience in food handling and safety protocols essential
Demonstrated leadership abilities with a focus on team management and customer service excellence.
