Title: Community Engagement Relationship Contractor – Pine Bluff, AR/Jefferson County
Type: Contractor (up to 25 hours/week; includes nights and weekend hours)
Reports to: Shanta’ Rice, Community Engagement Relationship Coordinator – Southern Region
Location: Pine Bluff, AR – Jefferson County
Position Summary: Working Credit is seeking a Contract Community Engagement Assistant to support our Pine Bluff Place-Based Initiative, a community-driven effort focused on expanding access to credit-building resources and financial wellness. This role is ideal for someone deeply connected to the Pine Bluff community who has a passion for outreach, relationship-building, and empowering individuals through education. The Assistant will play a key role in supporting community partnerships, increasing program visibility, and delivering engaging financial literacy workshops.
Primary Objectives
1. Support the growth and sustainability of community partnerships in Pine Bluff and surrounding areas.
2. Increase awareness and participation in Working Credit programs through outreach and engagement.
3. Deliver high-quality, engaging workshops that inspire individuals to take action toward financial stability.
4. Support community-based events and initiatives aligned with Working Credit’s mission.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Partnership Cultivation and Management
- Assist with planning and implementing our place-based strategies in the southern region: Plan, coordinate and help sustain existing place-based presence in Pine Bluff, AR
- Cultivate partnerships with prospective entities and maintain partnerships with existing partners.
- Implement outreach and retention procedures with partners.
- Maintain consistent and intentional contact with all partners.
- Follow practices and procedures to ensure partnerships meet established criteria.
- Create and maintain place-based resource guides to support the program team and ensure cross-team knowledge of partners and communities.
- Support team with record keeping and ensure data entry is consistent.
- Provide support as needed with community engagement projects
2. Community Engagement and Outreach
- Plan and host community engagement events to bring awareness to the program and get people to sign up for one-on-one credit building counseling.
- Conduct our signature credit building workshop in place-based communities.
- Attend relevant community events to increase our presence and visibility in the communities we serve.
- Strategize ways to increase outreach efforts and collaborate across departments to achieve successful outcomes.
- Present Working Credit’s work and mission and serve as a key representative of Working Credit in place-based communities.
3. Other
- Catalogue and organize all historical content for institutional memory.
- Write down procedures for partnership cultivation and management and create automation to streamline workflows.
- Participate in regular check-in meetings with Community Engagement Team meetings, staff meetings, and other meetings as requested.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- 2+ years of experience in community engagement/relationship management
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills (must be comfortable with public speaking)
- Strong ability to be flexible and responsive
- Must be culturally responsive and have a strong commitment to interrupting structural racism
- Must possess the ability to receive feedback and pivot when needed
- Experience and comfort working independently and remotely with colleagues
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders
- Creative and innovative thinker
- Ability to travel
Pay Range: $25/hr
