Summary
The Guest Services Associate is a frontline role responsible for delivering a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging visitor experience. This position supports daily operations across admissions, front desk, and gift shop services by providing excellent customer service, accurate information, and efficient transaction processing.
Essential Duties
- Welcome visitors and provide accurate, timely information to enhance the guest experience at Boonshoft Museum of Discovery and SunWatch Village.
- Deliver friendly, inclusive, and high-quality customer service to all guests.
- Operate front desk and gift shop services, including processing admissions, memberships, and retail sales.
- Use Point-of-Sale (POS) systems accurately and follow all cash-handling and transaction procedures.
- Promote museum memberships using guest-focused communication.
- Maintain familiarity with exhibits, programs, policies, and procedures to effectively respond to guest questions.
- Keep front desk, admissions, and gift shop areas clean, organized, and welcoming; assist with restocking and merchandising as needed.
- Perform opening and closing duties for guest-facing areas.
- Respond professionally to on-call requests to support coverage during high-volume days, special events, staff absences, or emergencies.
- Work collaboratively with the Guest Services team, assist with special events, and communicate guest feedback, concerns, or operational needs to supervisory staff.
- Participate in required training, meetings, and operational briefings.
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma preferred.
- Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, or a guest-facing role is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and special events.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn POS and ticketing systems.
