Are you a student or recently graduate studying Early Childhood Development? Behavioral Therapy? Child Psychology, Physical Education or Sports Management? Would you like hands on experience and training with kids ages 3.5 years old and up?
We are looking for applicants who are curious, eager to learn and engage, and flexible in their thinking and approaches. As an organization we value and respect cultural and individual differences and seek interns who are committed to their continued personal and professional growth as clinicians.
Our internship is designed to prepare empathetic and multi-culturally sensitive, sports minded clinicians who can work with competence, creativity, and flexibility with children in various development ages. Self-reflection and interpersonal dialogue are highly valued aspects of our training. Especially during this time as we come out of the pandemic, our kids need to be heard more than ever.
JMG is a local, family-run business with a background in corporate team-building, youth programs and group dynamics. We believe that sports is an amazing vehicle to teach children life lessons that reach beyond the classroom, beyond the playing field. (i.e. Grit, Empathy, Respect, Discipline, Teamwork, Sportsmanship, School Spirit...)
Commitment:
5-20 hours per week (primarily between 2:30-6:00 after school hours)
Classes/Aftercare starts Mid August - September varies based on school schedule
Reports to:
Company owner and operators.
Qualifications:
A willingness to learn is a must! Applicants should also be creative, have excellent written communication skills, be reliable and dedicated to helping JMG SportsWise and their students. This person will get hands on experience working with kids on communication, conflict resolution, empathy training and GROWTH MINDSET process - a great starting point for anyone interested in pursuing a career in child education or coaching.
